Vocal Horizons Chamber Choir has become one of the most versatile choirs in the country. Since its founding by Artistic Director Vincent Cheng in 2005, Vocal Horizons has achieved astonishing heights in Canada, including winning first place at the National Music Festival, then winning the Gold Medal at Musicfest, placing as semi-finalists in the CBC Amateur Choir Competition, forming the core of the Toronto Philharmonia Chorus, becoming the resident choir for the brand new Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts, singing for the Toronto Raptors 2009 Opening Game, and performing at the 2010 Olympic Torch Ceremony in Markham.

Vocal Horizons members are volunteers who are passionately committed to the excellent performance of a wide range of musical repertoire. Vocal Horizons concerts have been described as electrifying filled with emotion. From Renaissance polyphony to a cappella arrangements of popular film soundtracks, Vocal Horizons continually expands its repertoire of musical offerings - bridging the gap between genres of music and introducing new and exciting works to audiences in the Toronto area and beyond. Vocal Horizons also fosters community involvement by performing at health care and long term facilities.

The Vocal Horizons mission:

  • To remove barriers of access for those who may have limited opportunities to experience live performance;
  • To raise musical awareness and appreciation in the community;
  • To present repertoire that consists of a broad range of music, including both familiar vocal works as well as lesser-known and nontraditional pieces;
  • To facilitate the creation of unique arrangements for vocal ensemble.

Vocal Horizons continues to expand their outreach to audiences in the community and beyond. They are also available for private events, such as weddings and funerals.
